Elul (Day 4) — Forty Days of Mercy

Elul is known as the “Forty Days of Mercy,” recalling when Moses ascended Sinai after Israel’s sin with the golden calf and God revealed Himself not as a vengeful judge but as merciful, gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love. For forty days Moses interceded until the covenant was renewed, pointing us forward to Yeshua, who now intercedes for us at the Father’s right hand. Each shofar blast in this season declares that His mercy is greater than our failure and His love deeper than our shame, inviting us to return, repent, and be restored under His covering.
